This 7 layer burrito recipe is an easy dish to make and fun dish to take to your next pot luck.
When you prepare to make your 7 layer burrito, the first thing you want to do is find the largest flour tortillas you can find. The larger the tortillas the less you’ll have to use and the easier it will be to roll. You’ll also want to pull out the pan you want to use so when you lay them out you can use your pan as a guide when you lay your tortillas.
Step 1: Lay your tortillas just over the edge of your pan, this way when you roll your burrito you’ll have enough.
Step 2: Spread out your refried beans.
Step 3: Lay rice over the beans.
Step 4: Lay beans over rice.
Step 5: Lay chicken over beans.
Step 6: Lay diced tomatoes over chicken.
Step 7: Lay salsa over diced tomatoes.
Step 8. Add shredded cheese.
Step 9. Lay tortilla over top, then fold edges in and roll. You might need an extra set of hands for this process.
Step 10: Pour some enchilada sauce over bottom of pan, just enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
Step 11: Lay burrito over top of enchilada sauce.
Step 12: Pour remaining enchilada sauce over top of burrito and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 13: Cover with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes until cheese is melted.
And that’s it! You’ve just made the 7 layer burrito that probably weighs 7 pounds too. You may also want to serve this dish with some homemade tortilla chips or even some pineapple habanero sauce.
Feel free to change up the ingredients and create your very own 7 layer burrito.
