I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and is having a wonderful week! I’m sorry for the lack of postings, I’ve been trying to incorporate the posts in between but didn’t quite get that accomplished. Here’s why…
My husband’s sister, along with her husband and 3 kids, have been visiting. With them being in, this has been an amazing Easter for us. Easter morning at our house, usually starts with an Easter egg hunt, that crazy Easter bunny leaves eggs all over the house. We’ll this year he didn’t do that. He left one basket full of goodies along with a note.
The note said,
Enjoy this Easter treat I’ve left today… for mysteries will soon come your way.
Yup you’ve guessed it. E. Bunny was here, spreading a little cheer. Now it’s time to do your part; make sure Jesus is in your heart.-E. Bunny
It was really funny to see the kids a little disappointed that the Easter bunny didn’t leave anything but a basket. We left for church and when we came home the Easter bunny had came, left eggs all around the house and baskets too. That sneaky bunny. The kids wen’t crazy, found all their eggs and baskets and had a grand time.
Then the cooking began, most of the stuff we made, were from things I had on hand. Ham, broccoli casserole, sweet and spicy sweet potatoes, flat apple pie and spinach dip. I don’t think I have ever cooked a better dinner, everything turned out wonderful.
Then we headed to the park, in our rented 15 passenger van, watched the kids play some basketball and fly a plane, after that came home, had some dessert and off to bed.
The next morning we took a trip to the Grand Canyon, beautiful weather!!
We packed a lunch and brought some drinks to prevent paying the pricey fast food prices for 11 of us. While we were there we stopped at the General Store where, I picked up some motion sickness and allergy medicine, surprisingly found a good deal on. I also went in to get ice… but ice was $4.69 for a 10lb bag and I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that. I would rather drink warm soda, than pay that much for something that would melt.
Then on the way home we stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel, one of the places we splurge at, letting the kids pick and choose their own meal. I did however find a deal in their Country Store where I picked up fried apples buy one get on free.
It was such a joyous weekend. Did you do anything special this weekend?
