Monster Jam World Finals 2014, this 2 day event, going on it’s 15th year was held in Las Vegas, Nevada at Sam Boyd Stadium. The weather was perfect for Monster Jam fans. Disclosure: I was provided tickets on behalf of US Family Guide to attend the show. All opinions given are mine.
Being first timers attending a Monster Jam event, I really didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if the event would be family friendly or entertaining for my boys ages 6 and 10.
Our first day we enjoyed the pit party and walked around for hours seeing all of the amazing trucks up close. I loved the various themes of the truck not to mention all of the activities they had going on. There were so many events and activities going on in the pit party, the show really started there, it was so much fun.
After the pit party we headed to the stadium where we watched the world finals event and got to see the trucks perform. Having not seen any of the truck perform we really didn’t have any favorites. Once we saw the trucks in action we instantly picked a favorite.
Grave Digger The Legend ended up winning the World Finals and once the competition was over all of the trucks headed out on to the track. It was wild, with fireworks, cars spinning, etc. Grave Digger also gave his trophy to one lucky fan. He climbed into the stadium and handed it to him. That was a really nice gesture and I was really sad to see the show end. I couldn’t wait to come back for day two.
On to day two.. I do have to admit that after seeing the World Finals, we couldn’t wait to return back to the pits, meet the drivers, grab autographs and photos with them. Monster Jam really puts on a great show and the event is very family friendly. All of the drivers were really nice, signed autographs and took pictures with their fans. We spent all day there and the hours just flew on by.
The second night we got to enjoy the freestyle competition and I have to admit this was my favorite. Seeing all of the trucks doing their fancy moves, losing tires and demolishing their trucks was so much fun. One of the trucks even caught on fire. Since this was new to me, I was a bit freaked out but am glad to know that there are so many precautions to take care of a situation like that. The drivers really interacted with their fans this night. Zombie truck lost it hand in the crash and the driver picked it up and gave it to a fan, Madusa honored an active duty female military fan and threw out prizes. Metal Mulisha won the freestyle competition, his performance was amazing and it seems as if the entire stadium was cheering for him. Everything about the show was amazing. You can find Monster Jam on facebook, twitter, google plus and instagram. Be sure to follow them so you can stay up to date on when a show is coming near you.
If you are looking for a family friendly event that your entire family will enjoy. This is it. My kids are already asking me when we are going to go back and see the show again. I told them they’d have to wait until next year to see the Monster Jam World Finals.
