This weekend, we did some spring cleaning along with trying to eliminate the clutter in my house. We had tons of household good, toys, clothes that we really needed to donate so I packed it all up and we took it to the donation center.
I thought to myself, wow this stuff is really going to help a lot of people and it’s going to be great for the non profit organization. I was so excited just to get rid of it, but I really didn’t feel joy in the actual giving. The reason why is because I won’t see how it helps the organization or how happy it’s going to make the person that now receives the items I donated. All I see is the potential tax break for this year.
With this being the Easter season, it made me think about Jesus. How Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so we can have eternity in heaven. Many people haven’t seen what he’s done. His DONATION to us, this wasn’t for a tax break, this wasn’t just to get rid of clutter, he fulfilled his father’s plan by taking our sins so we can have it ALL.
His donation is out there and it’s limited to a select few. The gift is yours if you want it and it’s one gift that definitely not full of clutter.
