California Pizza Kitchen has revamped their menu! They are putting their best foot forward in creating healthier eating. CPK is introducing exclusive new food and beverage items highlighting seasonal ingredients, premium proteins and unique plates alongside their signature dishes! You’ll be able to find these dishes at CPK Summerlin and CPK at The Park and I know you’re just gonna love them.
Recently I was invited to attend California Pizza Kitchen in Downtown Summerlin to sample their new menu. To be honest, I haven’t eaten at California Pizza Kitchen since it opened up at the Mirage. I recall it being mediocre and never went back. Boy was I missing out. The general manager was amazing and explained the new menu choices. There were so many new items, making it hard to choose. We did finally decided on what we wanted.
10 Things You’ve Gotta Try at California Pizza Kitchen!
Beverages: I don’t drink alcohol so these non alcoholic drink were amazing to start with.
1.) Double Berry Sparkler: Blackberries and Monin Black Raspberry with fresh lemonade, then topped with club soda and fresh lemon.
2.) Cucumber Reviver: Freshly puréed pineapple & cucumber with Monin Cucumber, fresh torn mint and agave sour, then topped with club soda.
These drinks were sweet, tangy and very refreshing. My favorite was the Cucumber Reviver.
Appetizers-
3.) Charred Shishito Peppers: East Asian shishito peppers pan-sautéed with soy, garlic and red chili. These were very tasty and delicious. However I found myself enjoying them more as a side dish with our main dishes, rather than an appetizer. I also wouldn’t recommend eating them with the Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower. Both dishes have very bold flavors and it didn’t mix very well.
4.) Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower: Fresh cauliflower florets fried to a golden brown with buttermilk batter, then tossed in housemade Sriracha buffalo sauce and topped with a salad of celery, Gorgonzola and cilantro. Absolutely amazing dish!
Main Dish –
5.) Carne Asada Pizza: Tender marinated steak, fire-roasted poblanos, cilantro pesto, yellow onions, Mozzarella, Monterey Jack and fresh cilantro. Served with housemade salsa verde. We had to start with pizza! The carne asada was good pizza! Even though California Pizza Kitchen moving into the healthier trend they still make an amazing pizza.
6.) Seared Ahi Tuna Burger: Housemade wild-caught Ahi patty topped with crispy nori, fresh avocado & arugula, tomato and wasabi aioli. The Ahi burger, was like eating a salad on the bun.
7.) Crispy Potatoes with White Truffle – we choose for our side.
8.) Banh Mi Bowl: Quinoa, baby kale, fresh cilantro & mint topped with warm grilled chicken, watermelon radishes, fresh avocado, cucumbers, carrots, bean sprouts, scallions and sesame seeds. Served with housemade chili-lime vinaigrette and serrano peppers. – My new love. This bowl was fresh,crunchy, full of protein and different from a salad which was nice. The dressing was awesome and made to order.

Desserts –
9.) Banana Brownie Bread with peanut butter cream. Pan-roasted banana bread with rich chocolate brownie chunks, served with peanut butter cream, hot fudge, chopped peanuts and vanilla Häagen-Dazs.
10.) Butter Cake – You’ve got to try it! Order it first, It’s so yummy! Perfection made with the combination of crystalized sugar, yellow cake, and cheese cake to make this Butter Cake recipe. Served warm with vanilla ice cream on top.

California Pizza Kitchen prices were very resonable! After having the opportunity to try out their new innovative menu, I couldn’t wait to take the entire family and enjoy their patio dining with spectacular views.
